learningBOX and Suzuka University of Medical Science Held Joint Workshop

~Signed a memorandum of understanding on industry-academia collaboration to promote university education using e-learning systems.

Suzuka University of Medical Science (Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture; President: Nagayasu Toyoda) and learningBOX Corporation jointly held an LMS workshop on Friday, March 24, 2023.

Background of the Workshop

Suzuka University of Medical Sciences and learningBOX Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding on industry-academia cooperation in November 2022. Various initiatives are being implemented with the aim of training the next generation of medical and welfare specialists and improving the university's education and research functions through the use of e-learning systems.

The purpose of this LMS study group was to deepen mutual understanding of classes using the e-learning system "learningBOX," which is being promoted at Suzuka University of Medical Science, and to make use of this system in future research by introducing case studies of successful results and asking questions to learningBOX Corporation. The purpose of the meeting was to deepen mutual understanding and to make the most of future research.

LMS Study Group Overview

The "LMS Study Group" is an organization formed within Suzuka University of Medical Science, in which faculty members serve as lecturers and teach, stimulate, and help each other.

The 15th LMS study group was held at the headquarters of learningBOX Corporation (Tatsuno City, Hyogo Prefecture) with a visit from Associate Professor Hidekazu Miura of the Department of Clinical Engineering, Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, Suzuka University of Medical Science, who was also joined by system developers from learningBOX Corporation.

In this workshop, there were presentations on cases where students were able to raise the level of academic ability of the entire student body by "thoroughly" learning through a course that progressively increased in difficulty and eventually culminated in all the questions being answered correctly.

President Nagayasu Toyoda of Suzuka University of Medical Science commented, "Until now, we have focused on implementing classes using e-learning, but I think we are now entering a phase in which we are looking at how we can create high-quality content that students can enjoy learning. In the future, we would like to promote the sharing of high-quality teaching materials that have been devised in various ways by teachers.

At the end of the session, Suzuka University of Medical Science asked questions to learningBOX Corporation. The students also asked questions such as "Since the number of classes using learningBOX is increasing, it seems that students are having difficulty finding the content they are looking for" and "Is it possible to link with the database of national exam questions? A lively exchange of opinions took place.

Yoichiro Nishimura, Representative Director of learningBOX Corporation, commented, "We would like to continue to receive requests for new functions. We will take the time to consider each and every request and will do our best to accommodate as many as possible.

Some functions have been implemented in learningBOX at the request of Suzuka University of Medical Science, and we will continue to work on solving various issues as part of our joint research.
