learningBOX Corporation spoke at the "Japan-Philippines Pitch Event" organized by JETRO in conjunction with the "Philippine Startup Week 2023" in the Philippines.

What is the Japan-Philippines Pitch Event?

The event was organized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) of the Philippines, and JETRO in conjunction with Philippine Startup Week 2023, which was held from Monday, November 20 to Friday, November 24, 2023. As part of the J-Bridge business platform operated by JETRO, the event was held to help Japanese startups discover business opportunities in the Philippines and create networking opportunities with Philippine local governments and startups. Due to the large number of applicants, 10 companies selected through a selection process participated from Japan.

Speaker Outline

As an LMS from Japan, we focused on the education sector from among the social issues in the Philippines, and proposed that the system be used for human resource development, focusing on the shortage of teachers in public schools and improvement of teacher quality.

The interface is available in Japanese, English, and Vietnamese (beta version), and the system is equipped with an authoring tool that allows users to easily create content according to their needs, making it easy for even non-IT experts to manage e-learning programs.

The fact that the company offers functions such as creating teaching materials, managing members, and saving and viewing grades at one of the lowest prices in the industry, starting at 33,000 yen per year for 100 users, and the fact that multilingual support for more than 10 countries is scheduled to progress next spring, were also appealing points for emerging countries.

I was honored to have the opportunity to participate in the Japan-Philippines Pitch Event held in Manila, the largest economy in the Philippines. Philippine Startup Week 2023 was being held there, and the event was held amidst the excitement of local entrepreneurs who gathered together to provide solutions to various social issues with the latest technology and passion. We were grateful for the great response to our presentation of learningBOX as one of the solutions that can broaden the scope of educational opportunities and maximize human capital.
