Promoting Study Abroad to Nurture Global Human Resources
learningBOX, Inc. is a member of "Tobitate! Study Abroad Initiative," a campaign to promote study abroad through public-private sector cooperation (https://tobitate.mext.go.jp/about/english.html). The donation will be used to support Japanese high school and university students to study abroad and develop global human resources.
Overview
This is the first public-private partnership campaign by the Ministry of Education to promote study abroad, launched in 2013 with the goal of doubling the number of young people studying abroad by 2020. The main initiative, the "Young Ambassador Program," is a scholarship program for study abroad supported by more than 12.3 billion yen donated by 260 private companies and organizations.
The first stage of the project had been extended until FY2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and in the summer of 2022, the second stage from FY2023 to FY2027 was announced with the aim of quickly restoring the number of students studying abroad that fell due to the pandemic, and with further boosting the number.
