AI Adoption in Corporate Training: 85% of LMS Users Now Leveraging AI Despite Governance Gaps

AI Expansion in the Education Sector: 91% of Companies with LMS Report "Improved Training Quality" – Survey Results on LMS

learningBOX, Inc. recently conducted a comprehensive survey of 412 corporate professionals to analyze the current state of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and the integration of Artificial Intelligence in workplace development.
The data paints a picture of a sector in rapid transition. While over 40% of respondents expressed hesitation regarding AI output accuracy and a lack of formal "use policies," the actual adoption rate tells a different story: a staggering 85.5% of companies with an LMS are already utilizing its built-in AI features. Furthermore, the survey found that "operational flexibility" has overtaken "implementation cost" as the primary driver for system selection.

A Hybrid Reality: Face-to-Face Training Sees a Resurgence

Despite the push for digitalization, corporate education remains in a transitional phase. The survey found that companies are balancing a "mixed-media" approach, utilizing everything from Google Forms and paper tests to external seminars.

Interestingly, face-to-face training saw a 7.3 percentage point increase compared to last year’s data. This suggests that while digital tools are becoming more sophisticated, the "human element" of training is regaining its value in a post-pandemic landscape.

Governance as the Final Frontier for AI

When asked about the challenges of utilizing AI in a corporate setting, the most frequent responses were "concerns regarding the accuracy of AI output" (43.4%), "lack of established operational rules and guidelines" (40.8%), and "insufficient explanation or training on how to utilize AI" (36.7%).

This clarifies that while interest in AI is high, corporations still face significant hurdles in establishing operational frameworks and utilization rules.

AI Integration in LMS is Already Widespread: 85.5% Utilize AI Features

Regarding the usage of AI features specifically integrated into Learning Management Systems (LMS), 85.5% of respondents answered that they are "utilizing them." This indicates that AI adoption is accelerating rapidly within the specialized field of corporate education, with AI-driven initiatives becoming a standard component of the LMS experience.

Corporations Prioritize Efficiency in Progress Management Over Content Creation

The survey also explored which AI functionalities companies value and expect most from an LMS. The top-rated expectations were "improving the efficiency of learning and training progress management" and the "analysis and visualization of comprehension levels for individual learners."
While AI is often associated with the generation of educational materials, these findings show that companies have higher expectations for AI in the realms of data-driven progress management and learner analytics.

Flexibility as the Decisive Factor: A 5.9 Percentage Point Increase Year-on-Year

The primary factors for choosing a system were "security" and "flexibility to align with business operations." Compared to the previous year’s survey, "flexibility to align with business operations" and "comprehensiveness of features" both saw a 5.9 percentage point increase.

As corporate training undergoes further digitalization and AI integration, there is a growing demand for systems that can be operated flexibly to match each company’s unique educational philosophy and specific workflows. A clear trend has emerged where functional fit and customizability are prioritized over "implementation cost" or "support systems."

Finally, when asked about changes in the quality of education and training following LMS implementation, 39.8% responded that it "improved significantly," and 51.5% responded that it "improved somewhat," resulting in a total of 91.3% who observed an increase in educational quality.

As Digital Transformation (DX) in corporate training advances, Learning Management Systems are increasingly expected to not only enhance the quality of content but also provide flexible operations tailored to corporate policies and robust security for safe utilization.
