Summary of Kashima Education Group's Case Study

Kashima Kyoiku Group is the collective name for three wide-area, correspondence-based (credit-based) schools: Kashima Gakuen High School, Kashima Asahi High School, and Kashima Yamakita High School. However, the impact on learning when the device malfunctioned and the increased time required for teachers to deal with the malfunction were problems.

In addition, since we had to purchase and distribute approximately 6,000 terminals in bulk every year, procurement was labor-intensive and the cost of bulk purchases was a major burden. This led to the introduction of "learningBOX" in order to replace the system with one that does not depend on specific terminals and to review the operation method.

During the consideration stage, we were interested in learningBOX's highly intuitive UI, sophisticated visual design, and 13 different types of questions. The deciding factors were learningBOX's ability to understand our intentions and to plan and propose solutions that exceeded our imagination.

Although there were some concerns regarding the replacement of the system during the transition, once the system was actually in operation, there were no inquiries or complaints, and it has been running smoothly. 12,000 students, 100 staff members, and more than 500 affiliated learning support facilities are using the system, The "learningBOX" is mainly used for making and submitting assignments (reports), making and correcting corrections, making reservations for schooling, and checking attendance.

The company additionally requested the development of "learningBOX" functionality, and as a result, the following effects have been obtained as a result of the improvement of faculty work efficiency. The company has reduced the cost of procuring and purchasing tablet terminals in bulk, and has also drastically reduced printing and mailing costs by shifting from paper to digital. In addition, attendance information, which used to be entered manually one by one, is now linked automatically. As a result, the company has succeeded in reducing the approximately 2,900 hours of work required to input attendance information.

Another major benefit is that teachers are now able to spend more time teaching students because they are less likely to have to deal with system glitches.
