Automatically Designing Personalized Learning Paths to Boost Engagement and Course Completion
learningBOX, Inc. (Head Office: Tatsuno City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan; CEO: Yoichiro Nishimura) will release an enhanced content display based on the personality test results (Interlocking content) in its cloud-based e-learning system, learningBOX, on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
This feature automatically presents the most suitable learning materials to each learner based on the results of assessments such as personality tests and comprehension checks. In corporate training in particular, this kind of assessment-linked personalization is an advanced initiative that supports more efficient and effective talent development.
In school settings as well, the system can automatically recommend content that matches each student’s academic level and characteristics, contributing to improved motivation and outcomes in both corporate training and school in education.
More Content, More “Lost Learners” – Leading to Lower Engagement and Completion Rates
With the spread of video-based content, online learners now have access to more learning materials than ever before. At the same time, many learners report that they “don’t know which materials they actually need” or “can’t figure out the right learning path to achieve their goals.” As a result, motivation drops, course completion rates decline, and learning becomes less efficient.
Companies that extensively use video content have specifically requested the ability to “let learners study the most appropriate content for them based on personality test results.”
For example, after a company-wide compliance assessment, they want the system to automatically present supplementary materials for areas where understanding is low (e.g., “Information Security,” “Harassment Prevention”).
Personality Test Results as a Trigger to Automatically Adjust Content Display

With this new feature, the content displayed to each learner can be automatically controlled based on their personality test results. Admins need only configure the conditions; the system will then present the optimal content for each learner automatically.
Directly linking test results and content is still an advanced approach even among Japanese e-learning systems. Our company has taken on this challenge head-on and developed a new mechanism that uses test results as a trigger to automatically display the most appropriate materials.
Key Features
- Automatically show or hide specific courses, folders, or content according to personality test results
- Flexibly configure multiple conditions to achieve fine-grained personalization
- Reduce the administrative burden of manually assigning content to each learner
Use Case
- Compliance training: Automatically show an “Information Security Supplementary Video” only to learners whose personality test results fall below a set threshold
- Skills training: Automatically present “Introductory Materials” to basic-level learners and “Practical Assignments” to advanced learners
This dramatically reduces the time admins spend assigning content individually, while ensuring that learners always access content that match their level and needs. The result is a more precise form of personalized learning, adaptive learning, that truly fits each learner.
Educational Benefits
1. Eliminate Confusion and Support Self-directed Growth
With this feature, learners can clearly identify their own challenges based on test results, and see “what they should learn now” at a glance. It goes beyond simple content filtering to create a mechanism where learners can continuously study while feeling their own growth.
2. Improve Learning Quality Across Corporate and School Settings
In corporate training, the system can automatically assign onboarding courses tailored to each new hire’s placement and skill check, and recommend upskilling courses based on proficiency test results for existing employees, supporting efficient talent development.
In schools, teachers can use academic test results to provide each student with individualized drills and explanatory materials to help them overcome weak areas.
We are enhancing features that support adaptive learning to create an environment where everyone can progress at their own pace. Moving forward, we will continue developing functionalities that meet the needs of both corporate employee training and school education, serving as an educational platform that supports each learner's sense of accomplishment.
