Background of the event
Between 2000-2050,labor force in rural areas will go down by more than 40%, as well as recruiting talents will be a big challenge.

In rural areas, the outflow of human resources to urban areas, coupled with the aging of the population structure, has led to a decline in the labor force. According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's "Changes in Population and Labor Force in Rural Areas," the labor force in rural areas is expected to decline by more than 20% between 2000 and 2025, and by more than 40% between 2000 and 2050, indicating a rapid decline in the population.

Compared to metropolitan areas where people gather, rural areas tend to face even more difficulty in recruiting due to the declining labor force. This co-hosted seminar with NeoCareer has been planned as an opportunity to provide learningBOX's rurall recruitment know-how and techniques that are useful for other companies nationwide.

One-person HR department, who increased the number of employees from 3 to 25 times, will speak at the event.

Although learningBOX is headquartered in Tatsuno City, Hyogo Prefecture, where the population continues to decline, the company has expanded from three employees to more than 70 today.. Despite being a small company that is not yet well known, we have hired 54 people in the last three years (2020-2023), 29 of whom (53%) are in engineering positions that are difficult to fill.

While remote work jobs are popular these days, the work style at the learningBOX headquarters is basically coming to work. Even so, there are 24 members who have moved closer to the company and joined so far (as of January 11, 2024) .

In this seminar, Ms. Fukumoto, one-person HR department, will explain best practices of rural recruitment during the panel discussion for HR and hiring managers of countryside companies who are struggling.

Naoko Fukumoto

Born in Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture. During her university years, she studied business management at the Department of Business Administration in the Faculty of Commerce, and later, after some twists and turns, she became a fermented confectionery chef. After that, she worked as a consultant at a food and beverage consulting company. While working with various clients, she encountered SaaS and decided to switch to an IT company, joining learningBOX in 2019. When she first joined the company, she was a member of the marketing team and experienced content creation and exhibition management, and after working in sales planning, she is now involved in recruitment as a "one-person HR".
